Recruitment Agencies
It is also vital to fully research the competition within your target area/location. You must find out a number of things which include:
- How many recruitment agencies are operating within your target area?
- What industry sector to they specialize in?
- Do they recruit for all industries?
- How much do they charge for their services?
- How do they advertise their company?
- How do they advertise their job vacancies?
- How many people they employ?
- How much do they pay them?
- How long have they been working in the area?
- Are they a part of a larger company?
- What is their website like?
- What type of contracts do they have? (e.g. no win, no fee)
- Where is the location of the office?
- Do they provide training or not?
- Are they registered with the REC?
- Do they have a good reputation?
By accumulating this information you can ascertain your competitors strengths and weaknesses. Thus, find an area of weakness that your recruitment agency can exploit and make an opportunity out of. For instance, you may compete with another recruitment agency on price. By offering one of their clients a lower price for the same level of service.
