Adecco was formed in 1996 as a result of a merger between two companies namely – Adia and Ecco. Adia was founded in 1957, in Switzerland by Henri Lavanchy and Ecco was founded in 1964, in France by Philippe Foriel-Destezet.

This company was established in 1988 by Bill Hanlon and Anne-marie O'Connor-Hanlon. The company is based in Aberdeen and provides recruitment services for offshore jobs.
